Lillian Bassman shot for Harper's Bazaar like a painter, then went further in the darkroom. She bleached, blurred and dissolved detail until only the gesture remained. The Fashion Muse is my interpretation of that instinct: black, white, movement, and the confidence to leave the rest out.
